His father, a former film critic for the Montreal Gazette, and later a writer for the Department of Finance, played a starring role in developing Josh's taste in films and TV. From mainstream hits like Star Wars (1977), Die Hard (1988), and Ghostbusters (1984), to lesser known cult films like The Frighteners (1996), Big Trouble in Little China (1986), and Return to Oz (1985), Josh grew up watching a wide variety of genres and styles that made him well versed in the world of visual story-telling. And hey, when you have a mom who lists Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) among her favourite movies, you know you are being brought up by people with good taste!

Education:
In 2007, Josh began attending Carleton University. However, it was not until the winter of 2008 that he decided to switch his major from Political Science to Film Studies. Once he did, he never looked back, and ended up graduating in April of 2012 with a Bachelor of Arts with Highest Honours in his field. He did manage to put his former major to some use by getting minors in Political Science in addition to English.

Now attending Algonquin College's well-regarded Scriptwriting Program since the fall of 2012, Josh is taking his love of movies, television and various other forms of media to the next level by honing his skills as a professional writer. He is being mentored by professionals with a vast experience in the industry such as Lynn Tarzwell, Rick Kaulbars, Eric Calvert, Beverley Wolfe, and Adam Cowley.
